{"id":24080,"date":"2022-11-14T15:49:56","date_gmt":"2022-11-14T16:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/?p=24080"},"modified":"2022-11-14T17:43:05","modified_gmt":"2022-11-14T17:43:05","slug":"all-you-need-to-know-about-hecs-technology-development-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/2022\/11\/14\/all-you-need-to-know-about-hecs-technology-development-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"All You Need to Know About HEC\u2019s Technology Development Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/HEC.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"the-post-content\">\n<p>The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited applications for the fourth edition of the Technology Development Fund (TDF).<\/p>\n<p>Under the TDF, HEC finances proposals of completed interdisciplinary applied research for prototype development and industrial value addition for a tech-based product or process development.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div id=\"div-ub-propakistani\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Here is all you need to know about the fourth edition of TDF.<\/p>\n<h4>Introduction<\/h4>\n<p>TDF was approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) in 2015 at a cost of Rs. 2.9 billion. In 2016, TDF received official administrative approval.<\/p>\n<p>Between 2016 and 2019, TDF funded 200 joint academia-industry projects, of which over 160 have been licensed to the industry for mass scaling and commercialization. Most of the licensed projects are yielding revenue to all stakeholders.<\/p>\n<h4>Objectives<\/h4>\n<p>TDF has four main objectives which are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advancement of knowledge through interaction with the industry and researchers in an academically diverse range of disciplines<\/li>\n<li>Achieve excellence by transforming knowledge for creativity and entrepreneurship to benefit students, industry, and communities<\/li>\n<li>Value addition of goods and services by the use of new technologies to help business and industry<\/li>\n<li>Application of knowledge through extension and exchange with society and entrepreneurs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Areas of Focus<\/h4>\n<p>Proposals are invited in the following thematic areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Climate Change and its impact on the socioeconomics of Pakistan (agriculture, food security, urban development, pollution, floods, biodiversity conservation, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Telecommunication, Information Technology, and Computer Science (applications in government services, health, textile, agriculture, dairy, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Engineering Sciences, Micro Electronics, Water, Power, Energy, and Fleet Management<\/li>\n<li>Biotechnology and Allied fields (in health, agriculture, textile, leather &amp;
