Spider-Man 2099 joins Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy this time, as does Spider-Woman and Spider-Punk, who you can see in the production art below. But who else did we spot in the new trailer? Quite a few. Here are just some of the Spider-Man variations that stuck out to us in the <em>Across the Spider-Verse <\/em>trailer.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Punk.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Punk, as seen in Across the Spider-Verse\" class=\"wp-image-936907\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Sony Pictures Animation<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 id=\"h-ps4-spider-man\"><strong>PS4 Spider-Man<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Man_PS4_Web-1024x576-1.jpg\" alt=\"PS4 Spider-Man\" class=\"wp-image-623165\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Sony<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We saw the distinctive <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/spider-man-ps4-hype-nntb\/\">red, white, and blue Spider-Man costume<\/a> from the PS4 game in the trailer, making the game a canonical part of the Spider-Verse. It\u2019s not just the MCU where \u201cit\u2019s all connected\u201d these days. Our own spidey-sense told us this very popular variant of Peter Parker would show up, and it seems we were not wrong.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-spider-man-unlimited\"><strong>Spider-Man Unlimited<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Man-Unlimited.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Man Unlimited\" class=\"wp-image-936879\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Entertainment<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Although <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/spider-man-animated-series-ranked-worst-to-best\/\">not as beloved <\/a>as the 1994-97 <em>Spider-Man: The Animated Series<\/em>, the follow-up cartoon, 1999\u2019s <em>Spider-Man: Unlimited<\/em>, does have its fans. It\u2019s a weird show, where Peter Parker wore a nanotech suit designed by Reed Richards, and had adventures on the High Evolutionary\u2019s Counter-Earth, populated by human\/animal hybrids (and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/who-is-high-evolutionary-in-guardians-of-the-galaxy-marvel-comics-history-origins-powers\/\">which will appear in the upcoming<em> Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3<\/em><\/a>). The show was very short-lived, but we spotted the distinctive costume swinging around in the trailer.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-spider-girl-may-mayday-parker\"><strong>Spider-Girl (May \u201cMayday\u201d Parker)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1400\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Girl-Mayday-Parker.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Girl, May Parker\" class=\"wp-image-691633\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the MC2 universe, Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson married and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/spiderman-no-way-home-where-we-should-see-peter-parker-tobey-maguire-andrew-garfield-next\/\">had a daughter<\/a>. Young May \u201cMayday\u201d Parker inherited her dad\u2019s powers, and embarked on a heroic career as the amazing Spider-Girl. We\u2019re pretty sure we saw someone wearing her signature web shooters and costume in the trailer. We definitely saw Peter B. Parker with a baby (art below), which confirms is the infant version of Mayday. It seems we might get two versions of Peter\u2019s ginger kiddo.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Baby-May-Parker.jpg\" alt=\"Baby May Parker from Across the Spider-Verse.\" class=\"wp-image-936899\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Sony Pictures Animation<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 id=\"h-lady-spider\"><strong>Lady Spider<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Lady-Spider.jpg\" alt=\"Lady Spider, May Reilly.\" class=\"wp-image-936880\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hailing from Earth-803, Maybelle Reilly (a young version of Peter\u2019s Aunt May) is a kind of steampunk arachnid hero. She doesn\u2019t have spider-powers, but instead built web-shooters and mechanical spider arms in a perpetual Industrial Revolution style world. She debuted in the first issue of the Spider-Verse comic series back in 2014, and became a member of the Web Warriors. Given the Spider-Man film\u2019s tendencies to <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/spider-man-into-the-spider-verse-aunt-may-reimagining\/\">age Aunt May younger and younger<\/a>, having Lady Spider pop up makes sense.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-superior-spider-man\"><strong>Superior Spider-Man<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"714\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Superior-Spider-Man.jpg\" alt=\"Doctor Otto Octavius, the Superior Spider-Man.\" class=\"wp-image-936881\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Although we only see a glimpse of his costume, we spotted the unmistakable color scheme of the Superior Spider-Man. For a year or so, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/doctor-octopus-bust-sculpture-done-in-one-day-doc-ock-alfred-molina\/\">Peter Parker\u2019s old foe, Doc Ock<\/a>, took control of his body. But when Dr. Octopus had access to his mind, he gained access to his memories. Changed by the knowledge of Peter\u2019s heroism, he became the Superior Spider-Man. He was still a total jerk though.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-spinneret-and-spiderling\"><strong>Spinneret and Spiderling <\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"613\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Family.jpg\" alt=\"The Spider-family.\" class=\"wp-image-936882\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In yet another universe from the pages of Marvel Comics, Peter and MJ married and had a different child. But <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/tom-holland-and-zendaya-spiderman-no-way-home-behind-the-scenes-stories-stunts-suit\/\">this version of Mary Jane<\/a> had spider-powers herself, gained through a suit that siphoned some of her husband\u2019s abilities, and she went by the name Spinneret. Her daughter, Anna May \u201cAnnie\u201d Parker, inherited her parent\u2019s powers and became Spiderling. You can clearly see them walking together in the trailer.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-90s-silver-armor-spider-man\"><strong>\u201990s Silver Armor Spider-Man<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"597\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Man-Silver-Armor.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Man 1990s armor.\" class=\"wp-image-936876\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the early \u201990s, everyone in comics had a moment where they needed armor. Even Superman, for some reason. Keeping with the trends of the day, Spidey had a suit of silver and black armor, that although short-lived, lived on as many an action figure. We\u2019re pretty sure we saw \u201990s armored Spidey in the mix.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-mangaverse-spider-man\"><strong>Mangaverse Spider-Man<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1181\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Mangaverse-Spider-Man.jpg\" alt=\"Mangaverse Spider-Man\" class=\"wp-image-936890\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the early 2000s, Marvel created manga versions of their iconic heroes, Naturally, one was \u201cmanga Spider-Man.\u201d This version of Peter Parker, hailing from Earth-2301, was a member of the ninja warriors known as the Spider Clan. His Sensei, Ben Parker, trained him in their ways. He became the last member of the Spider Clan after Venom kills Ben under orders from the Kingpin. We spot Mangaverse Peter walking alone in the trailer.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-2003-animated-series-spider-man\"><strong>2003 Animated Series Spider-Man<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Man-The-New-Animated-Series-.jpg\" alt=\"2003 Animated Spider-Man\" class=\"wp-image-936889\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Entertainment<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Another often dismissed Spidey came from the 2003 MTV <em>Spider-Man<\/em> animated series. Many folks have probably forgotten about this Spider-Man cartoon. His costume is pretty classic, so it\u2019s hard to tell him apart from <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/10-superhero-costumes-that-got-it-right-the-first-time\/\">the classic Spider-Man look<\/a>. But the physicality of one of the Spider-Mans we saw in the trailer suggests to us it\u2019s that very same Peter Parker.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-flipside\"><strong>Flipside<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"744\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Flipside.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Man 2099 villain Flipside\" class=\"wp-image-936883\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Flipside was an android who could mimic the powers of anyone it came in contact with (kind of like DC Comics\u2019 Amazo). In the future, he copied <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/spideman-across-the-spider-verse-everything-we-know\/\">Spider-Man 2099\u2019s powers<\/a>, and became a thorn in his side. We\u2019re pretty sure we saw him wandering around in the <em>Across the Spider-Verse <\/em>trailer. And with Spider-Man 2099 playing a big role in the movie, we\u2019re even more convinced Flipside will appear.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-spider-man-mk-ii-bulletproof-armor\"><strong>Spider-Man MK II \u201cBulletproof\u201d Armor<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Spider-Man-gold-and-black.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Man Bulletproof armor.\" class=\"wp-image-936895\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Back in 2011, Peter Parker lost his spider-sense, which is what enabled him to dodge bullets the way he does. So he concocted a black and gold \u201cbulletproof\u201d armor, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/is-iron-man-3-actually-a-christmas-movie\/\">similar to Tony Stark\u2019s<\/a>. although the technical name for it was the Spider-Armor MK II. We see a Spider-Man wearing that very armor in the trailer, sitting down and chillin\u2019 with another Spidey.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-anya-corazon-spider-girl-arana\"><strong>Anya Coraz\u00f3n<\/strong> <strong>(Spider-Girl, Ara\u00f1a)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"644\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Anya-Corazon.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Girl, Anya Corazon.\" class=\"wp-image-936885\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Going by the names Ara\u00f1a (Spanish for spider) and Spider-Girl both, Anya Coraz\u00f3n was a Mexican Puerto Rican teen living in New York, who got spider powers when a group called the Spider Society performed a ritual on her. This happened when the Society gave Anya a mystical spider tattoo. She\u2019s been a fairly regular part of the Spider-family ever since, and one can see her distinctive black and white costume in the trailer.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-the-bombastic-bagman\"><strong>The Bombastic<\/strong> <strong>Bagman<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"599\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Bagman.jpg\" alt=\"The Bombastic Bagman\" class=\"wp-image-936896\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Marvel Comics<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe Bombastic Bagman\u201d was the name Peter Parker jokingly took when his costume was damaged. So as to not swing around New York City naked, he borrowed <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"info-target-blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/article\/fantastic-four-kicking-off-marvel-studios-mcu-phase-6-in-november-2024\/\">a Fantastic Four costume<\/a> from their HQ and put a brown paper bag over his head. Sadly, Sony does not have the rights to the Fantastic Four, so they obscured the FF logo on Bagman\u2019s chest.
