Published:<\/span> 16:51 EDT, 27 March 2023 <\/span> | Updated:<\/span> 16:51 EDT, 27 March 2023 <\/span> <\/p>\n Angry shareholders have demanded that Nanoco bosses step down in a bitter row over the company\u2019s David and Goliath battle with Samsung.<\/p>\n A group of investors led by Tariq Hamoodi, who has a 4.23 per cent stake in the British quantum company, has called for chief executive Brian Tenner and chief finance boss Liam Gray to resign following a settlement with Samsung last month.<\/p>\n Nanoco filed a lawsuit in February 2020 for patent infringement, alleging the South Korean tech giant used its \u2018quantum dot\u2019 technology in its TVs without permission.<\/p>\n The pair were due to go to court in Texas but agreed to settle. Samsung last month agreed to pay \u00a3123million to Manchester-based Nanoco \u2013 far below industry estimates of around \u00a3215million. <\/p>\n Shareholders said: \u2018Nanoco had settled on terms substantially less favourable than its prior statements had led shareholders to believe.\u2019<\/p>\n Nanoco said it \u2018emphatically rejects the shareholder group\u2019s speculative concerns\u2019.<\/p>\n Some links in this article may be affiliate links.
