{"id":46390,"date":"2023-03-28T22:14:19","date_gmt":"2023-03-28T22:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/?p=46390"},"modified":"2023-03-28T22:37:32","modified_gmt":"2023-03-28T22:37:32","slug":"former-google-engineer-predicts-humans-will-achieve-immortality-within-eight-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/2023\/03\/28\/former-google-engineer-predicts-humans-will-achieve-immortality-within-eight-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Google engineer predicts humans will achieve immortality within eight years"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/16800289643219.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"capital-letter\">A<\/span> former <strong>Google <\/strong>engineer has just predicted that humans will achieve immortality in eight years, something more than likely considering that 86% of his 147 predictions have been correct.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ray Kurzweil <\/strong>visited the YouTube channel Adagio, in a discussion on the expansion of genetics, nanotechnology and robotics, which he believes will lead to age-reversing &#8216;nanobots&#8217;. <\/p>\n<p>These tiny robots will repair damaged cells and tissues that deteriorate as the body ages, making people immune to certain diseases such as cancer.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ue-c-article__subheadline\">Ray Kurzweil&#8217;s predictions<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Kurzweil <\/strong>was hired by Google in 2012 to work on new projects related to machine learning and language processing, but he was making predictions about technological advances long before that. <\/p>\n<p>One example is that in 1990 he predicted that the world&#8217;s best chess player would lose to a computer in 2000, and it happened in 1997 when the Deep Blue AI beat <strong>Gary Kasparov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to the fears of some, he believes that implanting computers in our brains will improve us. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to have more neocortex, we&#8217;re going to be more fun, we&#8217;re going to be better at music, we&#8217;re going to be sexier,&#8221; he explained. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re really going to exemplify all the things we value in humans to a greater extent.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to be able to meet the physical needs of all humans. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to expand our minds and exemplify these artistic qualities that we value.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>According to him, by the second decade of the 21st century, it will be possible to find organs grown in laboratories. <\/p>\n<p>He claims that these advances will make the human being reach immortality, something that he has placed in 2031. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps for many that is too soon, but the advance of technology is such that it could be something perfectly credible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A former Google engineer has just predicted that humans will achieve immortality in eight years,<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":46392,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46390"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=46390"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46390\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":46393,"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/46390\/revisions\/46393"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/46392"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=46390"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=46390"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=46390"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
