{"id":57658,"date":"2026-02-06T11:29:34","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T12:29:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/?p=57658"},"modified":"2026-02-06T12:40:39","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T12:40:39","slug":"microbiology-expert-advocates-eco-friendly-nanotechnology-to-boost-food-security-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peymantaeidi.net\/stem-cell\/2026\/02\/06\/microbiology-expert-advocates-eco-friendly-nanotechnology-to-boost-food-security-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Microbiology expert advocates eco-friendly nanotechnology to boost food security, health"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Amid growing global concern over food security, public health and environmental pollution, a Professor of Microbiology, Ayandiran Daniel Aina, has called for a more eco-friendly approach to developing agricultural pesticides, improving crop yields and advancing cancer treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prof. Aina made the call during Babcock University\u2019s 58th inaugural lecture titled, \u201cUnseen Forces, Visible Impacts: Exploring God\u2019s Creation through Microbiology and Nanotechnology,\u201d held at the institution\u2019s main campus in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State.<\/p>\n<p>He advocated the use of plant and fungal metabolites for the green synthesis of nanoparticles in agriculture, medicine and environmental pollution control, describing the approach as a sustainable alternative to conventional methods that often leave harmful, long-term residues in the soil and pose risks to human health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile silver nanoparticles and other nanomaterials have shown great promise in medical applications, concerns about their long-term effects on human health remain,\u201d Prof. Aina said. \u201cResearch must continue to understand how these materials interact over time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He urged researchers to collaborate with industrial partners to streamline production processes and called for clear regulations to ensure the safe and ethical use of nanomaterials.
