Moses Lake looks set to become a hub for EV battery component manufacturing

Two companies planning to build battery component manufacturing facilities in Moses Lake recently got a boost with the granting of $100 million each from the U.S Department of Energy. Both firms make a silicon-based anode powder. This technology replaces graphite in a battery cells anode with silicon to create a cheaper and more energy-dense battery pack to be used in electric vehicle batteries.
