The University of Adelaide has again cemented its place as one of the world’s leading universities with the latest subject rankings underscoring its position as a centre of excellence for world-class teaching and research among the world’s more than 10,000 universities.
In the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject the University of Adelaide has six subjects in the top 100: Clinical and Health, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Law and Physical Sciences.

“The University of Adelaide is one of the leading institutions for teaching the next generation of leaders in subjects that are critical for the future of South Australia and the nation.
“The results in the Times Higher Education Rankings by Subject demonstrate that our staff’s expertise, combined with strong links to industry, are translating into great outcomes for our students and our graduates.”
In the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject all the University’s top ranked subjects have risen up the rankings:

Earlier in October, the University of Adelaide was ranked 88 in the Times Higher Education (THE) University Rankings for 2023.
Echoing this success, in the 2022-2023 US News Best Global Universities released on 25 October, the University of Adelaide is ranked 74 in the world. Five subjects are listed in the top 50 globally, and a total of 16 are ranked in the top 100.
Artificial Intelligence (7), Electrical and Electronic Engineering (25), Computer Science (41), Physical Chemistry (45) and Engineering (46) are the highest globally ranked subjects.
Subjects ranked in the top 100 are Water Resources (52) Plant and Animal Sciences (59), Chemistry (65), Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (71), Physics (74), Geosciences (88), Civil Engineering (93), Public, Environmental and Occupational Health (95), Environment/Ecology (96), Energy and Fuels (97) and Chemical Engineering (98).
