Copernicus Space Corporation announces Strategic & Scientific Advisory Board members
Edinburgh / Cambridge, Massachusetts, 7 December 2022. – Private space exploration company, Copernicus Space Corporation, launched its Strategic & Scientific Advisory Board (SSAB), including distinguished, visionary and pro-active SSAB members, the company said.
The SSAB members include:
- Dimitar Sasselov, Professor of Astronomy at Harvard University;
- George Church, Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School;
- France Córdova, President of the Science Philanthropy Alliance;
- Paul Davies, Professor and Director of the Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science at Arizona State University;
- Giovanni Fazio, Senior Physicist, Center for Astrophysics at Harvard & Smithsonian;
- Zac Manchester, Assistant Professor of Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University;
- Garry Nolan, Professor in Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine;
- Cumrun Vafa, Professor in the Harvard Physics Department;
- Chris Voigt, JD, senior marketing executive, former VP of Marketing Development for International Olympic Committee (IOC) and SVP for Strategic Partnerships at Whoop, Inc.; and
- Stephen Wolfram, Creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language.
The SSAB will guide and accelerate the development of Copernicus’ platform of easy to deploy miniaturized spacecraft with sensors and communications capabilities. The company is planning to develop nanotechnological and synthetic biology-based multiplexed and scalable Chipsat (satellite-on-a-chip), nanoprobe and bioprobe technologies. These comprise localized positioning, navigation, timing (PNT), as well as measurement data and communications capabilities. The SSAB will also help the company advance the search for extraterrestrial life and expand the scientific and technological legacy of humanity throughout the galaxy.
