Xiaomi 13 vs. Xiaomi 13 Pro: Spec, Price, and Performance Difference
Xiaomi’s 13 Series launch is definitely making waves in the smartphone industry. Already, the Series has two models, the standard Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Not only have they made their mark with their specs, but their prices have also become their signature.
According to the story by Giz China, starting at 3999 yuan ($573) for the standard model and 4999 yuan ($717) for the Pro, these phones show more than meets the eye in terms of differences. So let us take a closer look at what these mobile phones offer and what makes them different.
To start off, let us look at the similarities between the two phones. Both have the same chipset, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship processor. This Chip supports the latest LPDDR5X, as highlighted in Chinese by the website It Home, and UFS 4.0 + FBO refresh storage.
Both Smartphones Come with an IP68 Waterproof Rating
They both come with a 4642mm² super large VC liquid cooling, a 32MP ultra-clear lens for selfies on the front, and an IP68 waterproof rating. They both also have upgraded AI algorithms to deliver better performance.
The differences are found in four aspects: the screen, back shell, battery and charging, and rear camera, detailed in another post by It Home. First, let us look at the screen.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro Comes with Slightly Different Battery Capabilities
The standard model has a 6.36-inch display with an ultra-narrow bezel, whereas the Pro model has a 6.73-inch display with a curved LTPO design and ultra-dynamic display. The next difference is in the materials of the back shell. The Xiaomi 13 comes with four regular colors and a nanotechnology leather model, while the Pro model has a ceramic back and white, black, field green, and nanotechnology leather versions.
The battery and charging capacity are also different for each phone. The standard model comes with a 4500mAh capacity which supports 67W flash charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging. The Pro model has a 4820 mAh capacity with 120W flash charging, enhanced 50W wireless charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging.
The Pro Version is Reportedly More Suitable for Gaming
Finally, the rear camera differs. The standard model has a 50MP Leica triple camera setup with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10MP telephoto lens. The Pro model has a one-inch super outsole main camera, a 50MP floating telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.
So, is the almost $150 price difference between these two mobile phones worth it? We believe that it depends on your needs and personal preference. If you are into gaming and need a powerful processor, then the Pro model would be the more suitable choice.
Likewise, if you love to take photos and videos, the Pro model’s rear camera is worth its price. However, if you are looking for a budget-friendly model with decent specs, then the Xiaomi 13 is perfect. Ultimately, we would advise everyone to look into the different options carefully and decide which phone best suits their needs.
