Nanotech Products Exported to 48 Countries in Fiscal 2021-22
Iranian nanotechnology companies exported $62 million worth of products in the last fiscal year (March 2021-22), registering a 53% rise compared to the previous year.
Forty-eight countries were the destinations of these exports, Mehr News Agency reported.
With more than $10 million, Turkey and Iraq were the main target markets.
Other customers of Iranian nanotech products included Russia, India, Kazakhstan, the US, the United Kingdom, Mongolia and Pakistan.
According to Secretary of Iran’s Nanotechnology Development Headquarters Saeed Sarkar, Iran produces of 1,200 nanotech products in 18 industrial fields.
“Iran is ranked fourth in the world after China, India and the United States in nanotechnology,” he said on the sidelines of the 13th Iran Nano Exhibition held in October.
Some of the products made by Iranian nanotechnology firms include respiratory masks, hand foam and antiseptic solution, surface disinfectant, wound disinfectant spray, multifunctional cleaner solution and antibacterial mop.
Nanotechnology is the use of matter on an atomic, molecula, and supramolecular scale for industrial purposes.
